Dani Mohabir

Dani Mohabir began her research career at Penn by spending two years in a neurosurgery lab at Penn Medicine. There, she worked on mouse and rat models of auditory cortex functioning. Afterward, she spent her next two years working in a clinical psychology lab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. There, she worked with the outcomes team for a psychotherapy clinical trial for Attachment Based Family Therapy. Her research subjects included adolescents who were at high risk for suicide and depression.

As a Health and Societies major, her thesis research focused on the experience of mental health providers at the University of Pennsylvania. She looked at various aspects of these providers through ethnographic interviews.

Currently, Dani is an MD/PhD (Public Health graduate student) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will be happy to help anyone who is looking for advice about being a pre-medical student or about applying to medical school. You can find her on LinkedIn here.
